    V.   Common Council Meeting Expectations - The City of Merrill respects the role of our 
         elected officials. Alderpersons and Department Heads are committed to working in 
         collaboration to provide our citizens with the best decision-making for our city's 
         future. This meeting is a formal event and professional conduct is the expectation 
         of all in attendance. 
    VI.  Public Comment 
    VII. Minutes from Previous Meeting 
           1.  Consider placing the minutes from the August 12th meeting on file. 
    VIII. Revenue and Expense Reports 
           1.  Consider the August 2026 Revenue and Expense Report 
    IX.  Communications and Petitions 
           1.  Consider the claim filed by Rick Ament regarding paint on his vehicle on July 31, 
               2026. The City's insurance carrier is recommending that this claim be disallowed. 
               This recommendation is based on the fact that an investigation found that the City 
               was not negligent because reasonable precautions were taken to prevent the loss. 
    X.   General Agenda Items for Consideration 

           1.  Employee Recognition: 
               Tyler Mueller - 15 years - Fire Department 
           2.  Discuss and consider a request to lift the hiring freeze for a position in the 
               Treasurer's office due to an upcoming retirement. This is being brought directly to 
               the Common Council. 
           3.  Discuss and consider lifting the hiring freeze to fill the Wastewater Operator 
               position due to an upcoming retirement. This is being brought directly to the 
               Council. 
    XI.  Health & Safety 
           1.  Discuss and consider a Class "A" Beer license application for Hollandtown 
               Minimart LLC dba Merrill Cenex, 504 E 2nd St. The Health & Safety Committee 
               recommends approval. 
           2.  Discuss and consider a temporary "Class B" wine license for the Merrill Area 
               Chamber of Commerce on October 17, 2026, from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm at various 
               locations and businesses throughout the City of Merrill in conjunction with a Sip & 
               Stroll Merrill event. The Health & Safety Committee recommends approval. 
    XII. Personnel & Finance 

           1.  Discuss and consider writing off uncollectible balances; SDC returns. The 
               Personnel & Finance Committee recommends approval. 
    XIII. Acknowledge Committee Reports 
           1.  Discuss and acknowledge the following monthly reports: Merrill Housing Authority, 
               Park & Recreation, Committee of the Whole, Health & Safety, Personnel & 
               Finance, Redevelopment Authority and Fairgrounds Committee. 
    XIV. Resolutions 
           1.  A Resolution authorizing the vacation of an alley located south of E 9th Street and 
               west of N Kyes Street. The Board of Public Works and City Plan Commission 
               recommend approval. 
           2.  A Resolution authorizing the vacation of an alley located south of River Street and 
               west of S. Nast Street. The Board of Public Works and City Plan Commission 
               recommend approval. 
           3.  A Resolution authorizing the vacation of an alley located east of S. Kyes Street and 
               south of Logan Avenue. The Board of Public Works and City Plan Commission 
               recommend approval. 
           4.  A Resolution authorizing the vacation of a street located at Pleasant Acres, City 
               Street - Jessie Court. The Board of Public Works and City Plan Commission 
               recommend approval. 
    XV.  Mayor's Appointments 

           1.  Keith Donner to the Redevelopment Authority, replacing Clyde Nelson, term to 
               expire 09/2029
